Expression Boatworks was conceived from the desire for a compact fibreglass fishing vessel that could be easily launched from a beach in any remote location across the country, adopting an American sportfishing style distinct from current market offerings.
This concept was developed by a father-and-son team, who combined their over 70 years of experience in boatbuilding, design, and offshore powerboat racing to create a new vessel from scratch. The result is a boat that delivers strong performance, offers a smooth ride and is stable at rest, and boasts a robust composite construction.

The Expression 390T is where it all started. A 3.9m tiller-steer fibreglass fishing boat that looks like nothing else in its class.
Clean American sportfisher lines in a package that tows behind anything and launches on your own. Up to 40hp, 30 knots, solid fibreglass hull and deck, and enough buoyancy to keep things safe when the conditions aren't perfect. Simple, capable, and genuinely fun to fish from. Built in New Zealand for the people who'd rather be on the water than talking about it.
400SC
The Expression 400SC is the next step up. Same iconic looks, a little more boat.
At 4m with a side console layout, six rod holders, underfloor storage, and a self-launching bow roller, it's set up to fish from the moment it hits the water. Handle it solo, tow it with the family car, and customise it to suit exactly how you fish. Up to 40hp and 30 knots on tap. NZ-built fibreglass that does everything an aluminium boat does, just better looking and better feeling underfoot.

The Expression 400CC puts a centre console on the best-looking small fibreglass boat in New Zealand.
At 4m with six rod holders, underfloor storage, and a self-launching bow roller, it's built for anglers who want to move freely around the boat.
